Reference Checks (Professional & Personal)

Reference checks are made with respect to candidate’s personal integrity and professional references. A reference check generally involves contacting applicants’ former employers, supervisors, co-workers,educators and athletic coaches to verify previous employment and to obtain information about the individual’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs) and character.

The purpose of a supervisor reference check is to get further insight into the applicant’s performance, capabilities and areas of improvement. Information about the candidate’s interpersonal skills and peer reports are generated reflecting how others view the candidate.
